Legal Requirements for Workplace First Responders
According to § 40 AStV (Workplace Ordinance) and § 26(3) ASchG, companies are required to train an appropriate number of workplace first responders. The exact number depends on the size of the business:
- 1 first Responder per 29 employees in office settings
- 1 first Responder per 19 employees in other workplaces
- In cases of increased risk: more first aiders are required
